Pleske’s Ground Jay ( Podoces pleskei ) Variations are our topic of research since the past winter 2004. We are studying these birds to find out if they have developed subspecies here in Iran since we have found them in different plumage and markings.
This is a Juvenile pleske’s ground jay ( Podoces pleskei ) with no black marking on the chest. We are investigating this to find out if they have developed subspecies or variations in Iran. We are investigating different habitats, plumages and behavior to be able to better study this beautiful bird native only to Iran.
